Cignal Digital TV

Cignal Digital TV, a direct-to-home satellite pay television service, launched its High Definition (HD) and digital TV programming service in Davao City recently.

Featuring eight HD channels and twenty one DVD-quality digital channels, Cignal Digital TV is proving to be a good alternative to existing pay television services in the city specially for HDTV owners who have yet to maximize the potential of their home entertainment system.

HD is the latest innovation in television technology with two main distinctions over regular analog televisions, namely: resolution and aspect ratio.

Resolution.  Most regular television sets are analog standard definition using up to 480 lines to create a single image. High Definition televisions use at least 720 lines while Full HD uses 1080 lines creating amazingly real and life-like video.

Aspect Ratio. High Defintion TV sets have a wide aspect ratio of 16:9 which is comparable to cinema screens. Regular TVs, on the other hand, have a narrower 4:3 boxy aspect ratio.

Cignal Digital TV offers the first and only HD  programming in Davao and the entire island of Mindanao.
